Our Network

The Wine Lands Cycling Club (WLCC) has developed a network of trails (in excess of 180 km) across some of the most iconic wine farms along the foot of the Helderberg. 

The network offers various trail difficulty grades ranging from easy to challenging, and scenery from spectacular to stellar providing fun riding opportunities for families, good workouts for serious athletes and everything in between.

Park and Ride (Our Trailheads) Park and ride from any of Somerbosch Winery, 96 Winery Road Restaurant, Spier Wine Estate, the Thirsty Scarecrow or Waterstone Village Shopping Centre (upper deck parking area next to the gym).

Please note that the MTB trails are marshaled. Only riders with valid MTB bike boards or day permits are allowed to use the club’s trails. Cycling is only permitted on marked trails.

The Wine Lands Cycling Club trails are for members only, but day permits are available for visitors.

Day Permit Purchases

Day Permits must be bought before you enter the trials and attached to right-hand  wrist of the rider (not on the bicycle’s handlebar). One permit per rider.  Please make sure you are aware of the operating times of the various purchase points.

Day Permits cost R100 per person per day are now available at the following locations:

Memberships

Our annual memberships include access to our trails, memberships to the Wine Lands Cycling Club and our WLCC Road Cycling group.
Memberships run from 1 December 2023 – 31 January 2025.
